Mark Pragnell, director of economics and strategy research consultancy, Pragmatix Advisory, has almost 30 years’ experience as a macroeconomics consultant and forecaster applying economics and business research techniques to markets, industries and public policy.

Before founding Pragmatix Advisory, he held leadership roles in well-known macroeconomics consultancies, Capital Economics and Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), as well as policy and campaigning organisations. In addition to a long track record of macroeconomic forecasting and policy analysis projects, Mark has extensive experience of analysing and researching both island economies and international finance centres, and is a regular commentator on issues relating to them. He has worked with the governments of and/or industry groups in Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman, City of London, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey and Mauritius – and has led seminal research to explain and quantify the value of international finance centres.
