Simon Gray
Currently head of business development and marketing, Simon is a senior financial services’ professional with strong international experience gained in the Caribbean, Middle East and Asia as well as major experience in both public and in private sectors.
Combining an investigative background with 25+ years of first-hand experience of international financial services and product innovation and design, Simon has spent much of his working life in the private sector with senior roles including Baring Asset Management and Barclays Wealth. He has previously worked at the BVI Financial Services Commission as Special Advisor to the CEO and prior to that as Senior Advisor to the Securities and Commodities Authority in Abu Dhabi and as Director, Supervision (DFSA) within the Dubai International Financial Centre.
A prolific writer, published author and public speaker, Simon has a law degree and MBA and is a Fellow of the Chartered Securities and Investments Institute, as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services.
Simon is also a Fellow of the Corporate Governance Institute (formerly ICSA) and a Fellow of the International Compliance Association. Simon sits on the National Advisory Committee of the Chartered Securities and Investments Institute as a Board Member – the NAC covers the Middle East, India and Sri Lanka. Simon teaches post graduate diploma courses for the Financial Services Institute (FSI) in Corporate Governance and also Anti-money laundering.
